Beauty therapy businesses and beauty spas can operate to provide personal appearance/beauty therapy and nail services in Stage 1.

After the discussion with Minister Grace and Minister Fentiman yesterday regarding the reopening and Stage 1 guidelines, please refer to the links provided for the Checklists and the roadmap to recovery. Please review the FAQs which includes guidelines and important information for Hairdressers including Barber Salons  who offer Beauty services.

Checklists for beauty therapists, hair and nail salons can  be accessed here.

See Queensland's roadmap to easing restrictions here.

Stage 2 restrictions commencing June 13th will include tanning salons, tattoo parlours, and spas being able to reopen with a register of clients and a COVID-19 safe checklist.

What are the new requirements for hairdressers and barbershops?

Hairdressers and barbershops are required to keep a record of names and contact details of each client serviced, given close interactions, and to assist in contact tracing if required.

Hairdressers and barbershops are to maintain baseline restrictions, which include social distancing, and are encouraged to remain open if the business can adhere to the 1 person per 4 square metre rule.
