FIRST TIME COMPETITOR PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION (APPRENTICE & STUDENTS)

 

PRE DONE COMPETITION
Judging time: 9:00 am

  1. This is an introduction into the world of hairdressing photo shoots combining hair, makeup and styling.

  2. Strictly an 8”x10” (20 cm x 25.5cm) photographic print must be lodged with the HBIA by  Monday 11th May 2020

  3. The photograph is to be of ONE FEMALE MODEL ONLY and reflect CURRENT TREND fashion magazine work of a high standard.

  4.  Digital copy of all photographic entries are to be supplied to HBIA via dropbox .

  5. Competitors in this section must not have entered a photographic competition before.

  6. Amateur photographs accepted (i.e. you do not have to use a professional photographer)

  7. All winners are announced at the HBIA Australian Hairdressing Championships on Sunday  24th May 2020

  8. Judging will consider hair, make-up and overall effect, although emphasis will be on hair and make up.

  9. HBIA reserves the right to display photographs on plasma screen in main theatre during the Championship event

  10. In addition HBIA reserves the right to reproduce these photographs with appropriate credits for publications.
     

 
 
 
 

HIGH FASHION MAKE-UP COMPETITION - STUDENT CATEGORY

 

Practical competition:

Scrutineering time: 8.30 am

Starting time 8.40 am

Judging Time: 9.40 am

Practical Make-up competition for Make-up/Beauty Students currently enrolled.

With social media a new make up trend appears everyday.

What is a new make-up trend you can create as a make-up artist

Feathery eye brows, contouring, sharpliner, glitter lips or rainbow eyes.

Your new trend must be applied and created in a tasteful way, and inspire professionals and make-up enthusiasts for the new season.

Time allowed- 1hr 

  1. ·All models must have a clean face with no make-up applied

  2. On one model to create a high fashion look reflective of creating a fashion trend

  3. ·Use inspiration from Social Media,Catwalks ,and Fashion TV to create your look

  4.  Be creative try something new

  5. Judging will be on technique, and the overall make up look.

  6. HBIA reserves the right to display photographs on plasma screen in the main theatre during the Championship event

  7.  HBIA reserves the right to reproduce these photographs with appropriate credits for publications.

FEMALE STYLING IRON AWARD - JUNIOR CATEGORY

 

(This section will have points allocated to the overall Junior Hairdresser of the Year 2020)

PRACTICAL STYLING COMPETITION
Scrutineering Time: 8:40am
Starting time: 9:00am


Judging Time: 9:45am 

  1. On One female model, competitors must complete a style using a styling iron of any sort

  2. Pre-prepared hairstyles will result in disqualification

  3. Examples of styling irons include; straightner, tongs, crimper, curling iron etc.

  4. Examples of current styles you may wish to create are; waves, crimps, curls, straightening etc.

  5.  Models to be taken for scrutineering, with the hair raw which includes

  6. hair hanging free, dried, with no pre-sectioning, braids or ponytails.

  7. Blow driers are not permitted

  8. Judges will award points for styles that accentuate movement and control of the hair and reflect current fashion trends.

  9. Time allowed is 45 minutes.

  10.  Competitors exceeding this time will automatically be disqualified.

  11.  HBIA reserves the right to display photographs on plasma screen in  the main theatre during the Championship event
